So many interesting sketches come from artists waiting for planes, trains and buses, often of people or street scenes. But many fill time simply by drawing the four walls around them. Which certainly enlivens our view of airports, train stations and bus terminals.
Il faut voir l’aéroport de Jérémie : sa piste en terre, ses vaches, ânes, chevaux qui broutent paisiblement et qui ne s’écartent que quelques minutes avant le passage d’un avion ou d’un hélicoptère. Waiting for the Eurostar train back to London. Trying to catch the movement and atmosphere of the station. -Les Williams

Thanks for the comment Jennifer. I have been grouping these sketches by subject, and I didn’t think about pointing out the variety of color washes. Good point. BTW I just love today’s Hamburg lake sculpture on your blog.

Hi Bruce – It looks like you must have your sketchbook with you no matter whether you travel or not! You are some prolific sketcher. And I really like your themes. Thanks for the comment.

There are so many varieties that I think grouping by style is great idea! It doesn’t hurt that I absolutely ❤ a good ink and wash drawing, and I never mind viewing them.
Thanks for the viewing my page. I got a kick out of the giant bather – glad you did too!
