Sarah Ryan - For her Sketchbook Project 2012

Today’s inspiration for The Sketchbook Project is this page from Sarah Ryan’s theme of “Uncharted Waters,” a mythological series on creatures like these selkies.   An artist based in Philadelphia, she posted this sketch from her visit to Sea Isle.  Go see her blog.

“Selkies are seals that can transform into people by shedding their skin. They are found in Irish and Scottish stories, and they are usual depicted as beautiful women. I can definitely say that I wouldn’t mind being a seal sometimes…” -Sarah Ryan
